Species: Mixed grain Douglas Fir Hardwood Flooring

Width: 3 1/4 inch

Finish: All Hardwood Floors and stairs sanded and refinished with European hardwax oil. The stair treads, risers, and stringers were a particularly tough challenge as they were covered with numerous layers of paint. After hours of paint scraping and hand sanding we were very pleased to have restored the staircase while retaining as much “character” as possible. We were very pleased with the results.

Installations:

Numerous repairs to existing hardwood floor including replacing the original sub floor in sections with 3/4 inch plywood glued and screwed to the floor joists. Special care was taken to source wood from another heritage home that was from the same era the same grade.
Top floor was a very custom project. We sourced out another contractor who was looking dispose of a large quantity of 80 year old Doug Fir. We painstakingly pulled up all the floor boards, denailed then, then transported them to the job site. Once on site, we designed and custom milled the reclaimed wood into a custom basket weave pattern with a table saw, custom jigs, and a portable planer. Installation was very tricky due to the 4 separate axis lines of the pattern. We sanded and finished it with European Hardwax oil. One of our very favorite projects.
